From the privacy policy: data processing continues for a period not exceeding the duration of the account and five years following its deletion, with longer periods possible where needed for legal defence. That is not a loophole buried in a definitions section. It is the retention clause, written plainly, and it is more information than any competitor in this comparison provides.

Worth being fair about this: a company that publishes a five-year figure is not necessarily keeping your data longer than one that publishes nothing. It is telling you. The ones with no number may be keeping it forever, and you would have no way to find out. Transparency and favourable terms keep coming apart in this category, and this is the clearest example of it.

The policy states that conversation data is used to enhance AI models after personal identifiers are removed, so that only the conversational content itself is used. Data is shared with suppliers who operate the app, acting as data processors, and may be disclosed to third parties to meet legal obligations. Deletion can be requested where the data is no longer necessary, where consent has been withdrawn, or where processing was unlawful.

Note the shape of that last one. It is a right to request deletion under listed conditions, not a switch that empties the record. Combined with the five-year clause, the honest summary is that the text of your conversations outlives your decision to leave by a long margin, stripped of your name.
