"Video generation" shows up on more than one pricing page in this category, and it means a different thing on each one once you actually pay for it. One app meters it by the clip, the same way it meters a photo. One folds it into a tier you're probably already paying for. One doesn't have it at all, and points you toward something else instead. We went through what OurDream, Lovescape and GoLove — the three apps we track and recommend on this site — actually produce when you ask for a video, what it costs once the marketing copy ends, and whether either generator is worth waiting on.

Two different things share the word "video"

Before comparing anything, it's worth separating two features that get talked about with the same word. A generated video is a short clip built from a character and a prompt — you ask, you wait a few seconds to a minute, and a rendered animation comes back that you can replay. A live video feed is the opposite shape: no rendering, no wait, a real-time stream that responds while you're in it, the way GoLove's Live Mode works. They solve different problems and neither is a lesser version of the other. It's also worth saying plainly why a generated video is a harder thing for either app to get right than a generated photo, because it explains the inconsistency you'll read about in both sections below rather than leaving it as an unexplained complaint. A still image only has to be coherent once — one face, one pose, one moment. A video has to stay that same character across dozens of consecutive frames while something in the scene actually moves, and a small error that would be invisible in a single photo turns into a flicker, a warped hand, or a face that drifts off-model halfway through the clip once it's repeated frame after frame. That's not an excuse for either platform, it's context for why "hit or miss" shows up in review after review of this specific feature and almost never shows up the same way for still photos on the same apps.

The three offers, side by side

Only two of the three are actually in this race. That's worth sitting with for a second if you landed here comparing all three head to head: GoLove isn't a weaker video generator than the other two, it's not a video generator at all, for a reason that traces back to how the app is built rather than a feature it chose to skip.

OurDream: a real meter, and a real ceiling

OurDream's video generator draws from the same DreamCoins pool that pays for photos and voice minutes, and the arithmetic behind it is consistent enough across both of its plans to treat as real even though OurDream never states the per-video price outright: 100 coins per video, worked out from a 1,000-coin monthly allowance on the €9.50 Premium plan covering roughly 10 videos, and a 5,000-coin allowance on the €28.50 Deluxe plan covering roughly 50. What that means in practice is that video is the most expensive single thing you can ask OurDream to generate, coin for coin — a video costs 20 times what a single image does under the same allowance. Ten videos sounds generous until you remember the same 1,000 coins also cover photos and any voice minutes you use that month, and if the pool really is shared, a heavy video month leaves little for anything else. The bigger issue, by our own testing and echoed in reviews of the platform generally, is quality rather than quantity: results are hit-or-miss, sometimes genuinely good and sometimes visibly broken, in a way that reads as the feature being real but unfinished rather than a demo built to disappoint on purpose.

Put a number on it: five videos in a single sitting is 500 coins, half of the entire monthly allowance on the €9.50 plan, spent before you've sent a single photo request or placed a voice call — assuming, as the coin math suggests but OurDream's own page doesn't confirm, that all three draw from the same pool. That's not a reason to avoid the feature, but it is a reason to treat it as an occasional generation rather than something you lean on the way you might lean on unlimited chat, which never touches the coin balance at all.

Lovescape: type a scene, get a clip, no separate bill

Lovescape's version works differently at every step. There's no character-specific setup beyond the character you've already built: you describe a scene in a text prompt and get back a short clip, generated on the same screen you'd use for a still image. The billing shape is simpler on paper: video sits inside the same paid tier that also unlocks NSFW images and voice, rather than drawing down a per-clip meter the way OurDream's does. That's a real difference if you'd rather pay one number and stop thinking about it than watch a coin balance drop every time you generate something. It comes with a trade most people don't notice until they've used it a few times: our full Lovescape review, written after a week on the platform, calls the generated media — images and video together — the weaker half of the product, next to the emotional pacing the app is actually built around. You're not paying by the clip, but you're also not getting the deepest video engine in the category.

GoLove: no generator, and a different feature standing in

GoLove's absence here isn't a missing checkbox, it's a direct consequence of how the app works. There's no character builder on GoLove at all — you swipe through a fixed roster of ready-made companions rather than assembling one from sliders, which we go through in full in our GoLove review. A video generator needs a character to animate, and GoLove was never built to hand you one to feed into it.

What GoLove offers in that space instead is Live Mode: a real-time animated video feed of your companion, included in the same roughly $4/month annual plan rather than sold as an add-on. It isn't a substitute for a generated clip in the literal sense — you can't type a scene and receive an animation back the way you can on Lovescape — but it solves a version of the same underlying want, seeing your companion move rather than just reading text, without the coin math or the inconsistency that comes with a generator. Which of the two you'd actually rather have depends on what you're after: a specific scene rendered once, or a companion who's simply there, moving, whenever you open the chat.

What actually decides whether this is worth paying for

• Want a reliable, moving companion without waiting on a render: GoLove's Live Mode is the closest thing to a sure bet here, because it isn't gambling on a generation at all.
• Want the deepest customization and don't mind hit-or-miss results: OurDream's builder and video generator are the most capable pairing of the three, at the cost of a coin meter that video drains fastest.
• Want a simple bill and the occasional clip rather than a core feature: Lovescape's text-prompt flow, bundled into one subscription price, is the lowest-friction way to try it.
• Treat every generated clip in this category as a bonus, not a headline feature — that's the conclusion of every review on this site that's actually tested one, not a hedge we're adding here for the first time.

Verdict

Two apps out of the three we cover can turn a character into a short video, and neither one has cracked reliable results yet — OurDream because the results are inconsistent even though the builder behind them is the deepest in the category, Lovescape because the generated media has always been the weaker half of an app built around something else entirely. If a moving companion is genuinely the point rather than a novelty, GoLove's Live Mode sidesteps the whole question by not generating anything at all. None of that makes one app wrong for you; it makes video generation, specifically, a feature worth trying on a free tier before it decides anything on its own.
